Instantly redirect traffic using custom Vercel Firewall rules

On July 24th, 2024, software engineers Andrew Barba and Joseph Collins introduced a new feature on Vercel Edge Network that allows users to redirect requests to a new page using custom Firewall rules. This addition expands on the existing challenge and block actions. With no new deployment necessary to publish these custom rules, they will instantly be available across the network. These rules, when used in moderation, could provide a quick alternative to Edge Network redirects, especially in urgent situations. Firewall redirects are executed before the Edge Network configuration redirects are assessed. This new service is available on all Vercel plans at no extra cost.
