How RenderATL automates conference chores with custom APIs on Netlify

RenderATL Founder & CEO, Justin Samuels, was able to grow a tech conference in Atlanta from 300 to over 5,000 attendees in four years by automating conference tasks with custom APIs. He utilized Netlify APIs for streamlining the conference processes and automating tasks that were becoming increasingly burdensome as the event scaled up. Notably, he built an API that directly connected to Airtable, allowing any changes in it to automatically update the event website. Additionally, he created a unique attendee referral system that gifted participants with a unique code which, when used by others for ticket purchase, would earn the original attendee points for redeeming free tickets or experiences. Further innovation included requiring individuals to enter their email to view ticket prices, activating a drip campaign for targeted email reminders to drive registration. These automated solutions led to a distinctive, successful conference.
