Juan Diego Rodríguez, a Venezuelan front-end developer, has explored the potential of four JavaScript APIs that he believes are underutilized despite their potential to enhance progressive web apps (PWAs) and functionalities that were previously confined to native apps. These APIs include the Screen Orientation API, which can detect and adapt to different device orientations; the Device Orientation API, which enables access to a device's gyroscope; the Vibration API, which grants access to a phone's vibrating mechanism; and the Contact Picker API, which allows web apps to access a device's contact lists. Despite their potential, Rodríguez notes these APIs remain under the radar primarily due to inconsistent browser support.
