What’s new with GitHub Copilot: July 2024
GitHub has updated its Copilot tool to enhance developers' productivity and workflow by allowing them to spend a greater portion of their workday on meaningful task like coding. The new updates include the Copilot Enterprise feature that allows users to search organization-specific and public repositories using natural language, information from the web via Bing, and retrieve details from knowledge base articles. The tool can also answer queries about specific issues, commits, releases, pull requests, repositories, discussions, and files on any branch. Moreover, the Copilot chat feature enables users to ask questions about any indexed repository within the GitHub ecosystem thus providing organization specific suggestions tailored to developers' codebase and standards. The Bing-powered web search integration also allows for context switching within the IDE.
