Faster defaults for Vercel Function CPU and memory

Vercel, a cloud platform for static sites, is updating the default CPU for its Functions from Basic (0.6 vCPU/1GB Memory) to Standard (1 vCPU/1.7GB Memory) for new projects created after May 6th, 2024. The change is expected to give consistent function performance and faster startup times, which can potentially reduce cold starts by a few hundred milliseconds. Although the update might increase costs, it also helps functions execute faster, thereby reducing overall function duration usage. This is especially crucial for CPU-intensive tasks. The change will be automatically applied to all paid plan customers (Pro and Enterprise).
